CARNIVAL INCLUSION MATTERS
THU 15 FEB, 2024: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – The Digicel Foundation invited its partners with disabilities to the ‘Vibez with Voicey’ concert at the Queen’s Park Savannah on Carnival Thursday as part of its 2024 Carnival Inclusion initiative. The specially invited guests came from several of the Digicel Foundation’s long-term partner organisations, including Memisa Vocational Centre, Goodwill Industries, The National Centre for Persons with Disabilities and Servol.
The experience was extended to partners with and without disabilities to revel in the musical performances and have some fun for the Carnival season. Through a partnership with Aaron St Louis aka Voice, the guests were treated to a truly inclusive and enjoyable experience, including a private deck, refreshments and secure parking.
The Digicel Foundation’s Carnival Inclusion initiative was conceived in line with Article 30 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which recognises that persons with disabilities have the right to enjoy access to and participate in cultural life, recreation, leisure and sports activities. The Digicel Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in Trinidad and Tobago.
