MAKING CHRISTMAS WISHES COME TRUE
WED 8 NOV 2023: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO – This year the Digicel Foundation is inviting social media influencers to apply for a TT$25,000 grant to make Christmas wishes come true. Media personalities and social media influencers with over 20K followers on Instagram are eligible to register for the opportunity to fund a passion project of their choice.
“We’re encouraging local social media influencers to think about a meaningful project with community impact that they want to support,” said Cindyann Currency, Digicel Foundation’s Head of Operations. “This is an opportunity to be true change-makers, rallying online followers around a worthy cause of your choice. The cause could be a social enterprise, a community project, a donation towards a charity, or even a donation of equipment or devices to children or youth in need. The grants will go to the five influencers whose projects stand out the most.”
As part of the application process, all registered social media influencers will participate in a treasure hunt on 2 December. Registration to participate in the hunt will run from November 8-22.
At the treasure hunt, contenders will have to complete 4 challenges and collect their ‘treasure’ at a Digicel Store location (C3, Trincity, Westmall, Excellent stores), bringing them one step closer to the final prize.
Following the treasure hunt, ten successful social media influencers will be shortlisted and invited to share a short video on Instagram, giving details about their project and stating why Digicel Foundation should make their Christmas wish come true. The final five media influencers will receive TT$25,000 in grant funding toward a passion project.
