HP- New Compact Designs from HP
February 11, 2003- It has long been a truism of the modern computer industry that size is no indication of power. Hewlett-Packard is now pushing the issue to the limit through the introduction of a powerful commercial notebook PC targeting the small and medium-sized business markets.
Weighing-in at less than seven pounds, the Compaq Evo Notebook N1015v packs the power and performance necessary for mobility into a stylish design.
"HP is committed to delivering value to customers in conjunction with the highest quality products and services without sacrificing performance," said Kevin Frost, vice president of worldwide notebook marketing, HP Personal Systems Group.
Like all new Compaq notebook PCs, the N1015v features MultiPort technology. Recognized as the most innovative wireless solution on the market, MultiPort provides users the convenience to access the Internet or their enterprise network without cables.
These new units offer integrated floppy and optical drives, which provide flexibility without the need to cany external drives.
New design features also include better accessibility for persons with disabilities. For example, the notebook offers single-hand operations for opening the notebook and changing batteries.
In addition, the keyboard has tactilely discernible marks for hand placement to assist persons with low or no vision and an adjustable keyboard response time to improve accessibility for persons with limited mobility.
The space-saving factor was also paramount with the recent introduction several other new business products, including the Compaq Evo D510 e-pc and Compaq Evo D310v Desktop PCs, Compaq Evo thin clients T30 and T20 with CE.net operating system and two flat panel monitors.
The simple and affordable Compaq Evo D510 e-pc leverages the original HP e-pc design to maximize space. The powerful device is small enough to fit in a desk drawer and light enough to mount on a wall or under a desk.
