WEDNESDAY, 26 OCT 2022: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO:  Unilever Caribbean Ltd has been recognised by SWF&CO Public Relations with an award for its “Innovation in Sustainable Products for Living”. The award was announced during SWF&CO’s 30th anniversary celebrations, in which the PR firm expressed gratitude to its partners and clients and presented awards for standout achievements.

Recent circumstances have tested the resilience of many businesses, both local and multinational, with a barrage of challenges from the fallout of the Covid-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions and rising costs to the uncertain global circumstances as war continues in Europe. Within this unsettled climate, SWF&CO embraced the opportunity to celebrate Unilever Caribbean Ltd for its continued growth in the face of adversity, and its commitment to national progress through capacity-building, innovation and sustainability.

Unilever Caribbean Ltd centres its work around the core purpose of making sustainable living commonplace in the Caribbean. The International Unilever Group has invested heavily in its “Clean Future” research strategy which aims to rethink plastic packaging, replace the use of fossil-fuel derived carbon with renewable or recycled carbon in its cleaning products, and produce zero emissions in its operations by 2030.

Aligned with the overarching Group vision, Unilever Caribbean Ltd provides a range of compelling sustainable brands to the local market that are in keeping with local realities and priorities. Throughout the pandemic Unilever maintained close contact with customers, introducing new antibacterial lines and facilitating package renovations to better suit the demands of the time. Some of its latest product offerings include a dilute-at-home liquid Breeze laundry detergent with a refillable container, and new lines in responsible consumer-care brands such as Dove and Suave Naturals.

“It is extremely gratifying to receive an award that acknowledges Unilever’s commitment to supporting sustainable living in our region. We are driven to accelerate growth in our business while reducing our environmental footprint and increasing our positive social impact. 2021 was another landmark year for innovation across major categories, and our brands continue to lead and shape the local market through relevant consumer-driven innovation,” commented Jean-Marc Mouttet, Managing Director of Unilever Caribbean Ltd in response to receiving the SWF&CO Award.

SWF&CO Public Relations presented Corporate Achievement Awards to ten of its clients and partners as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations this year. At a virtual ceremony to mark the occasion, CEO Sandra Welch-Farrell celebrated SWF&CO’s employees and clients, and thanked senior executives, business leaders, and well-wishers from as far as Tokyo, Beijing, Ireland, Germany, Italy, the UK, the USA, Argentina, Mexico and Jamaica.

According to Welch-Farrell, "The SWF&CO Corporate Achievement Award is being presented to Unilever in grateful recognition of its enduring commitment to Innovation and to reducing its Carbon footprint. This is manifest in its eco-friendly processes geared towards reducing environmental waste and in being a facilitator towards a more sustainable future."
