CELEBRATE WORLD COCKTAIL DAY LIKE A YOUNG TRINI

Bartenders mix Ten To One Rum cocktails.

MONDAY 13 MAY 2024, PORT OF SPAIN – World Cocktail Day marks the day that the word ‘cocktail’ was first defined in print on May 13th 1806 – a recipe that forever changed the spirits world. More than two hundred years later, creativity abounds in the cocktail world. Palates and tastes have changed over time, and there are new recipes on offer from innovative brands such as Ten To One Rum.

Founded by Trinidadian Marc Farrell, Ten To One is a range of ultra-premium Caribbean rums designed to challenge expectations and change the way people taste, experience, and talk about rum. The brand creates pure, pan-Caribbean rum blends with no added sugar, colouring or flavouring, making it the perfect, premium choice for the base of your celebratory cocktail.

For Trinidadians interested in celebrating World Cocktail Day this week, Ten To One’s website has a collection of unique and fun cocktails – including the bespoke ‘Young Trini’. The Young Trini is Ten To One’s playful twist on the Old Cuban, a well-known classic New Yorker cocktail. This inspired cocktail can best be described as part mojito, part French 75, with a Champagne topper that adds a playful touch and makes this drink perfect for any form of celebration. About Ten to One Rum

Launched in New York by Trinidadian Marc-Kwesi Farrell in 2019, Ten To One is a range of ultra-premium Caribbean rums designed to challenge expectations and change the way people taste, experience, and talk about rum. In 2021, Grammy award-winning musician and entrepreneur, Ciara, joined as an investor, co-owner and director for the brand.

Ten To One endeavours to build a brand that is “elevated but not exclusive,” grounded in authentic elements of Caribbean culture and heritage. The brand also stands out by being 100% rum with no additives of any kind – no added sugar, colouring, or flavouring.

The current portfolio blends rums from all over the Caribbean, including Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, the Dominican Republic and Barbados, and currently includes several expressions: an extra proof white rum named Best White Rum by the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits

Competition, an aged dark rum, an Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish rum, and a number of soldout, special edition bottles.
