THURSDAY 09 MAY 2024: PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO - The Digicel Foundation has announced social media personalities Joe Brien and Kevin Soyer as the official endorsees of the 2024 Special Olympics of Trinidad and Tobago (SOTT) National Games, which run from 4 - 25 May 2024. Brothers-in-arms, they continue to celebrate persons with disabilities, calling upon supporters and advocates alike to rally behind the Special Olympians on the front lines.

“Pursuing our dreams does not seem possible, and these games have made it so that current and future generations of PWDs (Persons with Disabilities) won’t have to feel as much of the impact as I have,” Joe confessed. Despite having one arm and dealing with PFFD (Proximal Femoral Focal Deficiency) in both legs, as well as Scoliosis, Joe has persevered and continued to pursue his career as a DJ. He has worked with artists such as Shurwayne Winchester and Movado and has become the preferred DJ of the Digicel Foundation.

One of 2024’s 40 under 40 Youth Development Influencers, Kevin Soyer is a playwright and performer regarded as one of the leading stand-up comedians in Trinidad and Tobago. Diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis, an autoimmune disease-causing paralysis that resulted in a hospitalization lasting over a year, Kevin grew up with a sister with Down syndrome, sharing that “Her passion for being active and visible inspires me, and I am eager to shine a spotlight on these athletes.”
