PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO. Monday  04th July 2022: Life is now a little less difficult for socially displaced boys, thanks to a $US9,900 donation from the Marubeni Corporation to the Rainbow Rescue Home.

“Too often, we see boys and young men going astray,” noted Mo Majeed Chief Operating Officer/ Managing Director Caribbean for Marubeni. “Rainbow Rescue is one of the few organizations doing something to stop that. And we’re very happy that Marubeni can help in this initiative.”

Rainbow Rescue caters to socially displaced boys. The organization was formed out of concern for the increasing number of children living on the city streets. Many of these boys found themselves homeless due to poverty and breakdown in family life.

“Words alone cannot express our gratitude, especially during these economically challenging times,” said CEO of the Home, Judy Wilson. “Marubeni’s contribution will make a huge difference in our day to day operations of the home, especially with food, school supplies, medication, therapy, and transport.”

Majeed and Damian Obiglio, Senior Vice President Operations, chatted extensively with Kerwin Samuel, manager of the Home. Samuel explained how the boys were given an education and life skills so they could make their way in the world, despite their disadvantaged start in life.

“The work done here is really impressive,” said Obiglio. “Trinidad and Tobago needs more organizations like this, if we are to solve our many social problems.”
