Port-of-Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – April 2, 2026: Digicel (T&T) Ltd. is continuing to strengthen its position as the provider of the bigger, better and most reliable 100% fibre network in Trinidad and Tobago, with a major expansion of its infrastructure across South Trinidad.

Speaking on the network extension, Digicel T&T CEO Pieter Verkade said: "This is an exciting moment for us as this rollout will extend Digicel’s fibre footprint into key communities including Siparia, Oropouche and Point Fortin, bringing high-speed, reliable connectivity to thousands of additional homes and businesses.

"Verkade added: "Residents in these communities are seeing growing demand for faster, more consistent internet performance, as digital services continue to play a bigger role in work, entertainment and everyday life, with our full fibre network and large international capacity we can make that work.”

Built on 100% fibre technology, Digicel’s network delivers faster speeds and low latency — meaning minimal delay between sending a request and receiving a response, resulting in quicker load times and more responsive online experiences. This ensures a better experience for customers across streaming, gaming, remote work and smart home usage.

Speaking further on Digicel’s continued investment in network infrastructure, Verkade said: “This buildout is also a key part of our commitment to delivering a best-in-class network experience for our customers. Our focus is simple: faster speeds, greater reliability and a better overall experience for every home and business we serve.” He added: “It also builds on our previously announced commitment to invest approximately TT$20M into strengthening our network across T&T.”

To mark the infrastructure deployment in Siparia, Digicel hosted two customer engagement events, with one located at its Digiwireless store, where residents had the opportunity to learn more about the new services, speak directly with agents, and take advantage of special offers available on the day.

The Digiwireless store was well attended, with complimentary doubles and snow cones, a live DJ and local influencers adding to the atmosphere. Residents engaged with Digicel representatives, reviewed information on the new fibre services, and many walked away as winners of prizes and special offers.
